The fast pace of life has a constant impact on people’s daily lives, and when certain functions of the arms, legs, or other musculoskeletal system are impaired, it causes a great deal of discomfort.
Any activities – cycling, walking, standing up on your feet, etc. – can be accompanied by tremendous pain or a regular, nagging discomfort. In any case, even the slightest discomfort, injury, or pain during movement upsets everyone’s normal circadian rhythm and makes them feel inferior.
Constant movement gradually wears down the bone, muscle, or joint structures, eventually leading to pain of varying intensity. In addition, many people suffer injuries in their lifetime, which sooner or later also affect our movement.
It is recommended to seek professional medical advice when suffering from disabilities of the limbs or parts thereof, as well as limb loss. An orthopedic physician in Vilnius and other cities in the country, who diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of bones, muscles, joints, and ligaments, uses the knowledge, experience, and latest technology of modern medicine to help patients move more smoothly.
It is recommended that you seek professional orthopedic care immediately, if you suffer from a variety of musculoskeletal disorders. A consultation with an orthopedic traumatologist in Vilnius will allow the patients to learn about the causes of their injuries, post-injury phenomena, musculoskeletal pain, and foot problems, as well as solutions thereto.
Andrius Vaitiekus, Orthopedic Traumatologist
The doctor at Pes Planus clinic provides consultations and performs ultrasound scan.
“I can’t imagine my work without an echoscope, a non-invasive method that allows me to visualize the structures of the musculoskeletal system, assess their function, and accurately analyse an injury or the source of pain.
I work with the whole family, not only with adults, but I also consult children from birth on various orthopedic and traumatological issues. Whatever the problem, my aim is to help patients get back to their normal activities as quickly as possible.”

ORTHOPEDIC CONSULTATION PROCESS
1. General evaluation
If you feel the first symptoms of movement-evoked pain: bone, joint, or muscle pain, or if you have sustained a musculoskeletal injury, you should be referred to an orthopedic traumatologist. Any orthopedist in Vilnius and other cities in the country first evaluates the patient’s condition and identifies possible causes of the problem. Based on the data of the general medical evaluation, the orthopedic traumatologist then examines and treats the exact movement disorder.
2. Special evaluation
Once the underlying causes of the movement disorder have been diagnosed, the orthopedic traumatologist looks at all the factors involved in the patient’s particular problem. During the special evaluation, Andrius Vaitiekus, Orthopedist practicing in Vilnius, also examines and consults patients on the topics they are concerned about: evaluates carefully the condition of the patient’s feet, spine, muscles, injuries or deformities (such as a bunion (hallux valgus), tendon and ankle tears, etc.).
3. Examination
In order to determine the patient’s condition as accurately as possible, the orthopedic traumatologist may prescribe special tests, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and/or X-ray test. These examinations provide a very clear indication of the cause of the patient’s impaired physical mobility. The orthopedic traumatologist may also prescribe additional tests if necessary.
4. Treatment
Once the true causes of the motion discomfort have been identified, the orthopedic traumatologist selects the most appropriate treatment for each patient. During the consultation, the doctor informs the patient about the importance of the treatment, the time period, the means (e.g., orthopedic shoes, comfort splints for adults or children, special orthopedic shoe inserts, etc.). Precision treatment prescribed during the orthopedic visit leads to much faster rehabilitation.
Professional traumatologists with many years of experience find out the cause of the movement disorder during the consultation, inform patients about their problems, and prescribe the most effective treatment.
