Individual insoles for rheumatic feet
- rheumatic foot.
Reumatoid arthritis is a chronic, inflammatory, progressive disease of the autoimmune origin that affects the connective tissue in the joints. In the case of this disease, the main structural material of the connective tissue and collagen fibers break down. This increases the permeability of the connective tissue and blood vessel walls, causing blood plasma to seep into surrounding tissues, because od that an inflammatory process starts and damages joints surface. More than 90 percent in all cases of rheumatoid arthritis, the most affected are ankle and foot joints.
As the disease progresses, the joint position may change as the bones are pushed out of their optimal position.
This can cause longitudinal and transverse arch descending, and the pain and discomfort can be felt along the posterior tibial tendon, which also supports the inner longitudinal foot arch. The middle part of the foot supporting ligaments becomes weak, so the foot arch falls down. Rheumatoid arthritis also damages the articular cartilage, causing arthritic pain, which is felt both with and without footwear. The shape of the foot may change over time as the foot stabilizing structures affected by rheumatoid arthritis begin to degenerate.
This can cause bone outgrowths on the inner longitudinal arch of the foot. There are also deformations of the big toe or so called ''hammer toes''. All these changes make it difficult to wear the shoe, so the insoles that are specially adapted for rheumatic feet are used to relieve the symptoms and discomfort.
Orthopedic insoles evenly distribute the foot load and help keep the foot in the right position. Amortisate well. They are made of silicone plastic and soft cushioning material. Disassembled individually for each person to ensure maximum comfort and foot correction.
If desired, the insoles can be covered with a special anti-static, antibacterial silver ion material that prevents unpleasant odors and ensures special hygiene.
The insoles for rheumatic foot are designed to hold the transverse and longitudinal foot arches firmly. It also has an additional padded layer that extends over the entire foot which provides the required amortisation. Because of the insoles, the foot is maintained in the correct anatomical position. This helps to avoid lowering of the foot arches, ligaments and muscle stretching, foot deformities.
